The village of Bradenham is set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the County of Buckinghamshire. The main buildings in the village are the Grade II* listed church of St. Botolph which dates from around 1100, the Jacobean Manor House which was rebuilt around 1700 by Sir Edmund Pye (Bart.), the White House facing the village Green, the Cricket Pavilion which was opened in 1966 and the Red Lion Public House which now operates as a Tea Room.
The Estate of Bradenham is mentioned in the Domesday Survey and the earliest known Manor House was built adjacent to the church in the time of William, second Lord Windsor, who succeeded to the estate in 1543, died in 1558, and is interrred at the church. The Bradenham Estate and most of the buildings have been owned by the National Trust since 1956 after the death of the last Lord of the Manor Mrs Henrietta Tempest.
